Lego builders could be some of the most creative minds on the planet. But what do you get when you combine Lego skills with video gaming?
You get an awesome Destiny weapon, made entirely of Lego, like this Gjallarhorn rocket launcher created by Lego creators ZaziNombies. In this video, ZaziNombies details his process so that if you're so inclined, you can make one, too.
In Destiny, the Gjallarhorn is an exotic heavy weapon, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the real-world Lego version weighs over 15 pounds.
This Lego Gjallarhorn is nearly four feet long and made up of around 3,500 Lego bricks.
The Destiny weapon is a much-touted one, although it doesn't necessarily look all that pretty. However, in the game, it not only tracks targets, but after it explodes, it sends out small missiles that hone in on enemies, such as thralls and acolytes.
This isn't the first Destiny weapon that ZaziNombies has created, though. He has also given us a Lego version of the Icebreaker sniper rifle, as well as the Lego Medi Gun from Team Fortress 2 and an entire Minecraft world done up in Lego.
Destiny is a first-person shooter massive multiplayer online game developed by Bungie. Released last year, the game received mixed reviews, although it remains highly successful. Upon release, the game was the most successful new gaming franchise launch of all time, taking in over $500 million on its first day. It ended 2014 as the third best-selling retail game of that year. In November, 2014, Bungie announced a sequel to the game, stating that players will have the ability to carry over their existing characters to the new game.
"Work has also begun on future expansion packs as well as on our next full game release," says Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg. "We're very pleased with the launch and continuing engagement."
In Destiny, players can get Gjallarhorn by purchasing it from Xur or winning it in Crucible matches, Nightfall Strikes and ROC Strikes. You can also find it as an engram or pick it up in the missions Vault of Glass and Crota's End.
