Twitter Celebrates Another Throwback Thursday With #IfThe80sNeverStopped

It is was decade of big hair and big moments such as the release of Super Mario Bros., the creation of the Rubik's cube and Post-it notes. It was the time of iconic shows like Knight Rider and Cheers and movies like The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. There was the rise to fame of artists like Madonna and bands like Guns N' Roses, and bizarre fashion trends that included scrunchies and parachute pants. Oh how we love the '80s.

It seems impossible to imagine living during an era pre-iPhones and DVR, but at least we still have one great thing from the '80s—yeah, Madonna, we are talking about you.

Luckily, in honor of Throwback Thursday, the Twitterverse is buzzing with tributes to the '80s using the hashtag #IfThe80sNeverStopped. Here is a look at the good, the bad, the bold and the beautiful things of the 1980s.

It was the time of great cartoons.

But you wouldn't be able to live tweet about them on your iPhone.

It was the era of the bad boy.

But you couldn't find yourself one on Tinder.

This is how you would spend your free time.

You would tune in to watch this.

Or this.

But some things never go out of style.

Rock on '80s.
