'Bates Motel' Season 3 Trailer Isn't Normal

If you thought the incest on Game of Thrones was creepy, you haven't seen anything yet. A&E's Psycho prequel series Bates Motel continues to deliver what is without a doubt the creepiest inter-family relationship on television, and a new trailer won't let you forget it.

Last season the warning signs began to appear in earnest. Norman began to imagine himself as his mother Norma, putting in motion the chain of events that will eventually lead to Norman's transformation into the character we see at the end of Psycho. Season three will be moving full steam ahead with that idea.

Titled "Normal," this new trailer is anything but. Norman, an 18-year-old boy, still sleeps in his mother's bed, and in the trailer can be seen spooning her and touching her while she sleeps. Even though Norman loves his mother, that doesn't mean she is safe from his violent tendencies. It isn't clear if Norman wants to kill his mother, become his mother, become one with her or possibly all three. Each option is equally terrifying.

Norma's increasingly close relationship with Norman's half-brother Dylan will also cause some controversy, as a weird love-triangle develops between the trio, spurring jealousy within Norman. Considering how mentally unstable the kid is, that might not end well for Dylan. Below is a brief synopsis of what season three will focus on:

This season focuses on the evolution of the Bates family and dives head first into Norman's waning ability to stay in denial about what's happening to him and the lengths he will go to gain control of his fragile psyche. The dramatic events of last season leaves Norma (Vera Farmiga) reluctantly more aware of Norman's mental fragility and is fearful of what he is capable of.

Bates Motel season three premieres on A&E March 9th.
