For a limited time, buyers can pick up the Microsoft Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity bundle once again for a low discount price of just $315, the lowest price ever on this bundle.
The saga of the Microsoft Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity bundle is an interesting one. Back in October, word leaked on the Internet that an upcoming bundle offered by Dell would feature a new Xbox One console along with an Assassin's Creed Unity download token and an Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag download token. The bundle would be sold by Dell for a discount price of just $349, which at the time was the lowest price ever.
It soon became clear that this bundle was the product of Microsoft's marketing department, not just a one-off to be offered by Dell. The bundle was to become available at all major retail stores as well as online outlets. By Black Friday, many top retailers such as Walmart and Amazon were sweeting the $349 deal by including $50 gift cards, while Target undercut them all by pricing the bundle at just $329, along with a $50 gift card.
As result of the promotional pricing and marketing blitz by Microsoft, the bundle was one of the top selling technology items this holiday season. For the first time, Xbox One sales briefly outpaced sales of the PS4, largely on the back of the Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity deals being offered.
After the Christmas shopping season, Microsoft announced the end of the bundled pricing, much to the chagrin of consumers, who were vocal in their criticism of the move. As a result, Microsoft soon changed course and reintroduced the bundle at the $349 discount price, which it now goes for at most major retailers.
Now, in a special Presidents' Day offer, Groupon is offering the Xbox One bundle for just $315 when you apply promo code PREZ10 to your order on their website. This is the lowest price ever on the bundle, not counting discount card savings, and was briefly offered in January by Groupon as well. But hurry, as this is a special Presidents' Day offer that expires after the holiday, so if you want this great deal, you'll have to move fast.
