Ever since he was first elected in 2008, people around the country have claimed that Barack Obama is the first 'hip' president. Aside from just helping the country, he's connected with the U.S. youth on a level that many politicians can't replicate. While there are those that continually try to derail the president's plans or reputation, the youth of America is, for the most part, still on Obama's side.
It helps that Obama has two kids of his own: it makes his speeches on the future of youth in our country feel that much more genuine, like he has an actual stake in the issues. Of course, considering his two kids are both girls, there's likely quite a bit of pop music playing throughout the White House. Who knows, maybe Obama's a fan of some of their music?
When you really think about it, it's not all that crazy to think that, once a song gets stuck in his head, Obama can be heard singing the likes of Taylor Swift around the Oval Office...
He really does have a lovely singing voice.
As far as cut-together dubs go, the Barack Obama/Taylor Swift mash-up works pretty well. Obama's been President for six years now, so there's plenty of sound bites to go through, but even so - constructing a pop song from a library of political speeches can't be easy.
It's a shame that the video didn't come out sooner - you never know, it could have led to the greatest surprise Grammys guest appearance in the history of the awards. Who wouldn't have wanted to see Obama take the stage alongside Ms. Swift?
