Halo 5: Guardians: 20 Million Multiplayer Matches Played And Several Changes Made To Core Gameplay

343 Industries has done a splendid job with the Halo 5: Guardians beta, and the studio is now ready to look back at the statistics it gathered to make changes to the core game. Many fans will be happy about what the things 343 is planning to do because it could make Halo 5 one of the best games of 2015.

In a recent report, 343 announced that over 1 million players took part in the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta and over 20 million matches were played. This allowed the studio to gather enough information to tell what needed to be changed, and from what we can tell, the changes are a lot.

Executive producer Josh Holmes said in a statement on Halo Waypoint that the changes are not comprehensive, and more could be done at a later date while the team tracks further improvements.

Here are some of the changes planned for the game:

One of the main problems fans came across in the beta is the new Spartan Ability that allows players to sprint. Apparently, sprinting was too fast, so 343 went ahead and made some changes to make the movement slower. Furthermore, while sprinting is seen as too fast, strafing was seen as too slow, which forced the developer to increase its speed.

It means gamers will have the ability to dodge player attacks at a faster rate.

Another big change came in the form of how the sniper rifle is used when the player is aiming through the scope. It is now less clunky and faster to scope, a move that should make sniper players more deadly on the battlefield.

343 Industries also made sure to address the issues with the death cam. Players now have the choice whether or not they want to see themselves being slaughtered by another player. In addition, what about the constant chattering by the Spartans during multiplayer? The studio has addressed that issue as well.

Players will have the option to toggle off Spartan chatter should they find it too annoying. We should point out that having it turned on is an advantage, but not everyone likes it.

These changes we've just mentioned are just the tip of iceberg. We hope the studio make available a public beta before the full game launches into stores this year, because it would give everyone a chance to see if Halo 5: Guardians is the title of end all criticisms.
