It was revealed that the watchdog department is using a custom-made version of Grok AI that adheres to their needs and requirements.
Some of the responsibilities that Grok AI has reportedly includes analyzing and sorting of data which DOGE is evaluating.
Through Grok AI, DOGE reportedly has assistance in going through humongous information to help them assess a specific agency, with the team also speculated to be using the chatbot to prepare reports, according to the sources.
Grok AI Use for DOGE Raises Alarm
This use of Grok AI by DOGE is now raising alarm due to the significant privacy concerns that xAI has, especially now that it seems that Grok has access to US government data.
Not only that, this also puts Musk at the center of another conflict of interest issue, with Reuters claiming that it is a potential criminal transgression of federal regulations.
DOGE and Grok AI Controversies
Musk has since been at the center of controversies for many years now, more so after getting involved with DOGE. One specific concern involved DOGE and Musk's "Wall of Receipts" that allegedly misreported $8 million savings as $8 billion instead.
On the other hand, another of Musk's works, Grok AI, has been plagued with issues and problems since it launched almost two years ago, particularly for its significant hallucinations and inaccurate generations. Grok AI's parent company, xAI, has also been criticized for getting significant access to X user data for AI training. The company has since given users an option to prevent it.
