Rumors have been rampant about what Apple will bring for the iPhone 17 Pro, and one of the biggest rumored changes is the camera bump that will now take over the entire width of the upper third of its rear.

However, new claims are now expanding on how much more the public can take it up a notch with their customization experiences once the device is here as it offers a new perk for future owners.

Apple is expected to deliver this new design for the iPhone 17 Pro, revamping the device as we know it and making it look more like Google's Pixel smartphones with the wide camera bar bump.

iPhone 17 Pro Rounded Camera Bar Brings This 'Perk'

A leaker called Majin Bu has shared the rumored developments involving the iPhone 17 Pro's rounded rear camera bar that is expected for later this year, but the latest scoop centers not on the hardware itself.

Instead, it focuses on new perks that the public may enjoy in the future should the massive camera bump arrive as many accessory makers are already anticipating this design.

This perk comes in the form of "camera covers" for the rear bump of the iPhone 17 Pro, which seemingly looks like a stick-on accessory that can cover the entire length of the new bar.

It will feature camera holes and provisions for its sensors so as not to obstruct any of the device's functions, like taking photos, videos, AR images, and more. This is expected to make this future smartphone more stylish.

Better Customize Your iPhone 17 Pro Soon

According to 9to5Mac, the new rear camera bump of the iPhone 17 Pro remains a rumor from industry sources, but many accessory manufacturers are already creating these, which may hint at its future.

Moreover, the latest rumor is pointing towards better customization for users to take advantage of this massive bump that will soon take over a large chunk of the iPhone 17 Pro's back.

The iPhone 17 Pro Rumors

Apple is on its way to delivering the new iPhone 17 lineup, and while the rumored Air is the biggest change to this series, as per leaks, the other regular releases from the company will also reportedly get a massive focus.

The iPhone 17 Pro is anticipated to deliver a so-called "giant camera island" at its rear, and instead of the square version, it will now be horizontal and wide.

Moreover, rumors claim that Apple is also looking to change one of the lenses for the iPhone 17 Pro, particularly as the company is said to ditch the 12-megapixel telephoto lens that offers 5x optical zoom.

In this change, Apple is upgrading it to a 48MP lens that will now bring a 3.5x optical zoom for users, featuring a high-resolution sensor for improved performance that offers better software-based cropping tech.

That being said, Apple's work on the iPhone 17 Pro will still be a slight deviation from the previous release, the iPhone 16 Pro, as the rear camera bump's change is not considered a major change.

The next massive revamp for the iPhone's Pro series will arrive in two years, and it is important to note that the year 2027 will also be a celebration of the iPhone's 20 years in the market.
