Elon Musk's xAI chatbot Grok is getting better as time goes by. From Grok 3's advanced reasoning and creativity, the company is introducing a new "Grok Studio" feature that borrows a page from ChatGPT's Canvas.
With the new functionality on the platform, users can expect to see a canvas-style space where they can create and edit documents, apps, and code in real time. It's available for free and paid users.
Grok Studio Can Compete With ChatGPT and Claude
Grok Studio is xAI's answer to the growing demand for interactive AI workspaces. Much like ChatGPT's Canvas and Claude's Artifacts, this feature allows users to preview HTML snippets, run programming languages like Python, JavaScript, and C++, and edit or generate text documents—all within an intuitive split-screen interface.
As stated in the official announcement, "Grok can now generate documents, code, reports, and browser games," wrote the official Grok account on X. "Grok Studio will open your content in a separate window, allowing both you and Grok to collaborate on the content together."
Today, we are releasing the first version of Grok studio, adding code execution and google drive support.

Google Drive Integration is a Surprise We Haven't Seen Coming
Along with the release of Grok Studio, xAI also announced another significant feature: integration with Google Drive.
According to TechCrunch, users can now add documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks directly from their Google Drive storage into Grok prompts. This could be Elon's response to Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini, which already have deep integration with their native cloud ecosystems.
The capability to work together on actual work documents—slideshows to financial models—provides Grok with the much-needed advantage in the AI productivity arms race.
With this feature, Grok is more than a chatbot; it becomes a complete AI assistant for knowledge workers, developers, and creators.
Yesterday, xAI unveiled its new setting dubbed "Personalize With Memories." It's simply a feature where Grok can recall your past conversations.
The responses from Grok came from the cached content. Users have the freedom to delete past chats. In case they want to remember any personal or work-related chats, this feature will come to your memory's rescue.
