Since the dawn of texting and chatting, users cannot control what they have sent once it is delivered. Google Messages is looking to change that with its Remote Delete feature, which is now available for all.
Google Messages Remote Delete Feature Is Now Here
Android Authority shared a new report which shares more about Google Messages' Remote Delete feature. The publication found the feature amidst the app's code in its latest version, allowing users to delete messages sent from one device while using another.
One of the biggest requirements for this feature to work is that the other device needs to the Google Messages app. It should likewise be logged in to the same Google account.
According to the report, this feature was made possible with the latest update of the RCS Universal Profile, which upgrades it to version 2.7.

Here's How It Works and How to Use It
There are several caveats to how the Remote Delete feature works. First, users will only have 15 minutes to remove the message that they sent to another contact, so they have to keep this in mind.
Deleting a message will make it visible in the chat with a placeholder that says, "Message deleted," which is similar to how instant messaging and chatting apps work. This will ensure that there is transparency on both ends of the conversation that a message was deleted.
This changes the way that Google Messages deletes texts as it previously only removed a message on the sender's device.
Google Messages New Features
One of the biggest features that Google Messages offer users is its Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard. Recently, Google reached one billion users for its Messages app, which centers on RCS experiences, and the app now features the power of generative AI.
Because of Google's massive focus on generative AI, it recently shared an update that offers a floating action button (FAB) feature that will allow users to easily access the machine learning experience. Google also leveraged its Gemini AI for Messages via FAB, and users may easily start a conversation with the chatbot and use the content it produces for messages.
The next big thing coming for Google Messages is its expansion of the RCS experience that will allow Android users to converse directly with iOS users as Apple is in the process of adopting RCS for the iPhone's Messages app.
