Apple outdid itself with the new MacBook Air's M4 upgrade.

The latest Apple announcement is here, and it is what the world has been waiting for. The MacBook Air with the M4 chip finally debuted with the much-needed upgrade for the computer lineup.

While the biggest update here is still the M4 chipset, which takes the new MacBook Air to the next level, Apple also introduced other massive upgrades for the computer.

Apple also gave the world a new color finish for the M4 MacBook Air and set it at a lower starting price compared to its predecessor, which make it an irresistible computer for users to upgrade to.

Apple MacBook Air M4's Best Features, Improvements

Since last year's announcement of the M4 lineup, many expected that Apple would also follow up with a new MacBook Air featuring the best-performing chip it has to offer. Initial leaks claimed that the MacBook Air's M4 upgrade is coming this year via macOS 15.2, and there were claims that it will feature massive upgrades for all to enjoy.

External Display Support

It was previously leaked that one of the biggest upgrades focuses on its external display support, which turned out to be true as it is one of the top eye-catching features present in Apple's announcement.

The MacBook Air M4 will still only have two external monitor displays at 6K resolution via Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 1.4 support, but it no longer has to be on clamshell mode as its built-in Liquid Retina display may also be used as a third screen.

New Color and MagSafe Charging

There is a new color for the MacBook Air M4, and that is the Sky Blue option. It is the fourth colorway alongside Silver, Starlight (gold), and Midnight (black).

These are all available for both its 13-inch or 15-inch models and for the base version with a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB memory, and 256GB SSD; the 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB memory, and 512GB SSD; or the 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 24GB memory, and 512GB SSD.

Alongside this, users may also opt for a separately sold USB-C to MagSafe charging cable that is available in the new Sky Blue colorway to match the laptop.

Setup Easily With Nearby Devices

One of its most nifty features is the easy setup that Apple detailed in its latest release, and users who purchase the new MacBook Air M4 do not need to connect their devices to get started with their computer.

Users only need to keep their iPhones or iPads nearby when setting up the MacBook Air M4, have it connected to the same network, and follow the on-screen steps to easily set up the new computer.

Cheaper Starting Price

Apple has made the M4 MacBook Air cheaper than before as it starts at only $999 for the 13-inch, $100 cheaper than its M3 counterpart, while the 15-inch version will set users at around $1,199.

Should You Upgrade to the New MacBook Air?

The new MacBook Air M4 is promising, not only because of its new color or performance but also because of the many nifty features that Apple included for the latest release.

It is one of the most affordable M4 computers available in the market today, and it is now available for preorders, with its first batch of shipments coming by March 12.
