Violations of Community Guidelines were previously a stain on one's record over at Twitch, but that is now changing as the company updated its enforcement system.
Because of the recent changes, violations will now be removed from one's record after some time has elapsed. This means that Twitch content creators who previously faced violations or reports would no longer have these permanently on their accounts.
Essentially, this also means that previous violations they incurred, especially minor ones, would have the chance to be removed from their record before they stack up and accumulate.
Twitch Community Guidelines Violations Will Not Be Permanent Record
Twitch shared a new blog post that detailed the latest changes to its enforcement system, and according to the company, "Violations now expire" as part of their efforts to be fair to creators moving forward.
The team also shared that they want to "contribute to our community in positive ways," and this latest move gives creators a chance to amend their mistakes after making them.
According to Twitch, streamers who previously incurred minor infractions have been severely affected by their violations that remained permanent records. The change gives the chance to avoid being suspended in the long run.
The different Community Guidelines violations will have varying set amounts of time in which they will remain on an account's records. Creators may view the status of their violations and their remaining time in the Appeals Portal.

Twitch Violations to Disappear After Some Time
The said varying violation time on an account will depend on the severity of their infraction. Minor offenses, such as being caught cheating in an online game, will only stay on record for 90 days.
However, for more grievous offenses such as hateful conduct, creators may see it on their accounts for one to two years before they expire, but the "most severe harms" would still face "immediate indefinite suspensions."
Twitch and Its Strict Guidelines Enforcement
Twitch is known for its long-standing strictness in enforcing its Community Guidelines, with the platform having a massive reach to audiences, including minors. The company recently applied new tools to its feed which automatically catch and filter mature content like sexual and violent streams as part of its feed guidelines.
However, apart from being unsafe from the streams and content found on Twitch, users and creators are also facing possible dangers in the chats feature of the platform, which the company has made a move on.
The streaming platform recently updated its policies that aim to strengthen its protection for users against sexual harassment and other forms of harm via chats through clearer restrictions.
