Reports about Americans getting the so-called "DOGE Dividend" are now blowing up online, and the Elon Musk claims that he will talk to President Donald Trump about it. However, there are no guarantees that this DOGE Dividend of $5,000 will come in the form of taxpayer refund checks.
This comes just as the White House revealed that Musk is not the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It has been widely believed that he is, but that seems to not be the case.
Elon Musk Mulls $5,000 Tax Refund Checks For Americans
A possible "DOGE Dividend" is now the talk of the town over at X, especially since DOGE has been reported to have saved a lot of money after many federal agencies laid off huge numbers of employees.
Instead of being kept from the public, the possibility that the money will be returned to Americans in the form of tax refund checks began floating around the internet.
Musk replied on X that he'll run the idea over with Trump.
The proposal for the said dividend claimed that DOGE's total savings totaled $400 billion, and James Fishback, Azoria CEO, claimed that they only need to take 20% of these savings and divide it among 79 million taxpayers in the country, which would grant $5,000 in rebate each.

DOGE Head Controversy: Is Elon Musk Not Its Head?
That being said, Musk is embroiled in a new controversy as the White House recently denied that he is the head of DOGE, further saying that he has no authority to make decisions over the governing body's actions, according to a report by Reuters.
Instead, the White House said that Musk is merely a consultant of the president regarding the newly established government watchdog, and the billionaire has no real power in effecting said changes.
Elon Musk and His Efforts Under DOGE
Ever since DOGE came to existence, Musk has claimed that he aims to significantly overhaul the many federal agencies under the United States government. Some of his plans include shutting down discretionary spending and other unnecessary use of the taxpayer's money, looking into the many programs, projects, and more from each agency, and removing what is necessary for an efficient America.
Recently, Musk looked into auditing the different federal agencies and their use of the American budget and funds, especially when it comes to the previous administration's spending. The watchdog department and its so-called head received read-only access to the US Treasury's Federal Payment System, with Musk's DOGE team technology executive receiving the security clearance for its access.
Musk has been busy with DOGE since Trump assumed his role as the 47th President of the United States, and he has looked into various processes in the US government that the team is looking to improve on.
