In another example of tech founders and CEOs capitulating to President Donald Trump, Facebook users accused Mark Zuckerberg's Meta of forcing their accounts to follow the president and vice president's profiles on Tuesday.

A Reddit user shared in a now-deleted post on the Facebook subreddit that their newsfeed was filled with news about Trump and the White House, which led to them realizing they were following the president and Vice President JD Vance.

Other users chimed in with the same experience, with one claiming they tried to unfollow the two but were automatically opted back in. The only way to stop following the accounts was to block them, Tech Issues Today reported.

While Facebook has yet to comment on whether the follows were intentional or a glitch, it's another example of tech billionaire Zuckerberg cozying up to the new president. In addition to attending his inauguration on January 20 with his wife, Zuckerberg donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund, falling in line with other tech billionaires' donations.

Social media users openly shared their dismay at being forced to follow Trump and Vance, with many calling for an investigation.

"I did not follow Trump's Facebook page. Meta is clicking 'follow' for their users. This is an abuse of their power and should be a terms of service violation," one X user shared.

It's important to note that the official Facebook account for the POTUS is updated each term, and any users who were following Joe Biden will now be following Trump. However, it appears most users were forced to follow Trump's official account, separate from the POTUS page, and warned others to check their accounts.

"A heads up for anyone that has Facebook. Zuckerberg saw to it that everyone without their consent followed the President Donald J. Trump Facebook page. I highly suggest you all unfollow that fascist dirt bag," X user @87_RobertM warned.
