Nintendo Switch 2's New 'Super Smash Bros.' Game Rumors New Characters, Release Date

Super Smash Bros. is getting a new game dedicated to the Switch 2.

The rowdy and chaotic action from Nintendo is getting a new title coming for the Switch 2, with fans also getting a "Super Smash Bros." for the latest console, and it is set to deliver massive surprises for gamers. The latest leak talked about the new characters that are rumored to be joining the game, with the upcoming Nintendo Direct event this April set to unveil the title.

It was also revealed via the recent leak that it already has a release date lined up from Nintendo, and this latest rumor makes it only the second first-party game from Big Red apart from the new "Mario Kart" title.

New 'Super Smash Bros.' For Switch 2 Leaks New Characters

An anonymous 4chan user shared the leak behind Nintendo's next first-party title coming for the Switch 2 console, and it was revealed that a new "Super Smash Bros." game is already in the works from the Kyoto-based gaming company. One of the biggest pieces of information behind this leak is the arrival of new characters set to join the arcade-style 3D fighting game from Nintendo.

First off, it was revealed by the leak that "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's" entire roster would debut with the still-untitled sequel game from Nintendo, and this was despite creator Masahiro Sakurai's wishes.

The leak claimed that apart from the same roster, it is also expected that characters like Toon Zelda, Waluigi, Noah and Mio ("Xenoblade Chronicles" series), Sol Badguy (Guilty Gear), and Armorouge and Ceruledge ("Pokemon Scarlet and Violet") are coming.

Here's What and When to Expect For New 'Smash Bros.'

The new "Super Smash Bros." game will also feature DLCs that are set to be available in the future, with one of the leaked characters set to feature Paper Mario as the 'day one' exclusive character coming.

Furthermore, the new game would also offer character overhauls and changes for the likes of Link, Samus, Cloud, Ganondorf, Ryu and Ken, Kazuma, Bayonetta, and Donkey Kong. The leak also revealed that Nintendo plans to release the new "Super Smash Bros." game by summer 2026.

Massive Expectations on Nintendo and the Switch 2

Amidst the massive news of the past weeks, Nintendo has managed to remain at the top headlines because of its surprise drop of its latest successor console, with the Switch 2 already confirmed and legitimate. Last week's release of Switch 2's first-look trailer gave the world what they have been longing for, and this much-needed upgrade is already promising a new experience for all.

It is only fitting for Nintendo to reveal the Switch 2 with a first-party game, and the company did not only choose a random game to be its featured title for the upcoming console as it is a beloved one from its franchises. "Mario Kart 10" or "Mario Kart X" has been gaining traction from leaks over the past years, with the game's much-anticipated sequel already starting the list of Switch 2's offers strong.

However, it would not be a full-fledged Nintendo console without an array of first-party titles from the company, but the list is fairly slim for a company that offers a dedicated and exclusive gaming experience for its fans. With that, the latest rumor centered on another Switch 2 exclusive game, with Nintendo working on a new "Super Smash Bros." title featuring an array of new characters, coming by 2026.
