The year 2024 saw Nothing focus its development on its budget smartphones featuring the Phone (2a), but that is about to change when the company debuts its next flagship with the Phone (3). A new scoop from none other than Nothing's CEO and founder, Carl Pei, revealed that the upcoming flagship speculated for 2025 will have a massive focus on delivering a new "AI-powered platform."
Pei and Nothing already gave the world a taste of what its AI experiences have to offer, but that is merely a stepping stone for what the company has been developing and creating behind closed doors for its next flagship.
Nothing Phone (3) to Deliver an AI-Powered Platform Says Pei
A renowned leaker, Evan Blass, shared an alleged email (via X; now deleted) from Nothing boss, Carl Pei, and it talked about how 2025 will be the company's "year of innovation" which would finally bring a new version of its flagship to the world. As per Pei, Nothing will deliver massive experiences that would focus on a new "AI-powered platform" to be its biggest release for this year.
In the leak, Pei is pointing out an experience that ties its upcoming flagship smartphone to their massive AI plans to deliver to users, focusing on a grand debut for both developments. Should this be true, it would be similar to Samsung's January 2024 Unpacked which debuted not only the Galaxy S24 flagship series but also its Galaxy AI which introduced its new platform.

Nothing to Deliver New AI Experiences With Flagship
However, there were no specific claims from the alleged email from Pei regarding Nothing's AI-powered platform coming with the Phone (3), but he talked about the new "user experience of personal computing devices" coming. Nothing's Phone (3) would share the latest breakthrough from their developments, including the AI-powered features, but there is no word yet on when it will arrive this year.
Nothing's Smartphone Development and AI
Nothing went a different route on its developments in 2024, and the company focused on developing its budget smartphone version after releasing the US-available Phone (2) which was the last flagship from its lineup. Nothing Phone (2a) still delivers a significant experience for users who want a unique experience with the Nothing OS, with the Phone (2a) Plus powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G.
The next release from the company from 2024 was another budget smartphone that also saw a global release, but this one was from a new sub-brand called 'CMF by Nothing' which also focuses on cost-effective devices. The first CMF Phone was a hit, and during its release last July, the Android smartphone saw 100,000 units sold in only its first three hours, with the modular device gaining significant fame.
Pei's company is still young, but it is already climbing at a rapid pace where the brand has already made a name for itself and it is now working on massive developments that would expand more of the experiences coming for users. Nothing Phone (3) is expected to arrive this year and the flagship's biggest upgrade would be the also anticipated artificial intelligence technology that is set to transform it into an "AI-powered platform."
