Google Podcasts shut down last year, but don't worry. The search engine giant is experimenting with personalized content through its latest innovation, Daily Listen in Search Labs. This feature will turn your Google Discover feed into a professional podcast based on your interests.
Are you ready to listen to your personalized podcast soon?
Google's Daily Listen Now Under Testing
Daily Listen is part of Google's Search Labs initiative, which aims to improve user experience by turning the curated articles and videos in your Discover feed into a 5-minute podcast episode.
The feature gathers content related to the topics you follow based on your search behavior. It gives you a fresh and engaging way to stay informed without having to read through articles.

How Does It Work?
To start using Daily Listen, you first have to opt into Search Labs from the Google app. 9to5Google reports that you need to tap the flask icon located at the top left of the app for this. Then, when access is granted, the Daily Listen Card will show just below the search bar. When you tap on the card, it creates a podcast episode for you based on your recent interests.
Each episode would last about five minutes, with several different segments pulled together in your Discover feed. The episodes would include dynamic controls for the audio, so you can pause, rewind, fast forward, or stop the podcast whenever.
If you like it, you'd give it a thumbs up; if you don't, you could give it a thumbs down to send feedback to Google.
Seamless Podcast Experience with Transcripts and Controls
One of the best features of Daily Listen is its integration of text transcripts. While you're listening, you can view a clear text version of the content, making it easier to follow along and catch up on any parts you may have missed.
This scrubber audio includes the beginning and end of podcast sections, showing users what it is they have to listen to. If further information is what you are interested in, all you have to do is scroll down and seek related stories consolidated by topic and make sure all the information required is available for a Daily Listen.
What Makes Daily Listen Worth Checking?
Google's Daily Listen introduces a new form of content consumption by merging personalized newsfeeds with the convenience of podcasts. This feature allows users to stay updated on their favorite topics while on the go, making long-form reading a quick audio experience.
Moreover, it makes it easier for busy individuals to absorb information while multitasking, whether commuting, working out, or just relaxing at home.
Daily Listen will also improve the pre-existing AI algorithm of Google; it provides users with even more personalized content. With podcasting episodes created with your interests, Google will step beyond static articles and into dynamic and interactive interactions with content.
Is it Available Now?
Currently, it's available in the US, and it might take some time to see it appear in your Google app, Engadget says. Whether Google is looking to roll this out further in other regions or if it'll be a staple in the app remains unanswered, as this is still an experimental tool. But for now, it's pretty exciting to glimpse the future of personalized, audio-driven content.
Content Consumption's Future Looks Promising
With Daily Listen, Google is changing the way we consume personalized content. It combines two popular trends—podcasts and personalized AI-driven recommendations—by offering bite-sized, podcast-style episodes based on users' interests.
For time-strapped individuals who want to stay informed in a fast-paced world, this tool is a must-try soon.
