Elon Musk unfollowed a popular tech YouTuber after he went viral for revealing he sold his Tesla Cybertruck because he "[likes] the Rivian better."

Marques Brownlee, known as MKBHD, purchased the top-tier Tesla Cybertruck Foundation Series in April 2024, investing over $140,000 with additional modifications.

After eight months and less than 5,000 miles, he decided to sell it at a significant financial loss of around $50,000, according to Torque News.

Brownlee has publicly endorsed the Rivian R1T as a better option for his work, citing personal preferences over features like Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) software.

"TL;DR I like the Rivian better," Brownlee wrote in an X post.

Shortly after, Musk unfollowed the influencer on X, causing a stir online among Tesla advocates and critics.

"Of course, the Cybertruck is an embarrassment," one user wrote, while another added, "Said no one ever. It's only because he's left wing and hates Musk."

Musk has yet to comment.
