pexar, a newly launched brand under Lexar, is trying its hands in digital display technologies with its recently launched Digital Picture Frames at IFA 2024. This is the first product from the brand, and it hopes that the high resolution will be a hit with consumers.

The pexar Digital Picture Frame comes in 10.1, 11, and 16-inch sizes. At the time of writing, only the 11-inch display is available for sale on Amazon. The other two models will start selling later in October.

Embedded at the center of the picture frame is a high-resolution touchscreen display. The 11-inch model has a 2K resolution, which equates to around 2.4 million pixels. The smaller 10.1-inch model has a lower 1,280 x 800 resolution, which is understandable, but what's interesting is that the 16-inch model also has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 despite its larger display. That's an 80 pixel difference on the long side, which makes the choice somewhat peculiar.

The display's other features include up to 400 nits of brightness, an anti-glare coating to reduce stray reflections, and coverage of 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut—similar to high-quality monitors and phone displays.

All models come with 32GB of onboard memory, which pexar says can hold up to 40,000 images. This storage can be expanded by up to 1TB with an external USB drive or SD card.

Uploading images to the picture frame is easy with a smartphone app. Once connected, anyone in the family can upload images to the display from anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection.

It's easy to set up in both portrait and landscape orientations using the magnetic stand, and it can also be wall-mounted.

Beyond the specs sheet, the pexar Digital Picture Frames feature a sleek, minimalist design that appeals to modern home aesthetics. The frames are packaged in environmentally friendly boxes made from recycled materials, making them a sustainable gift option.

The 11-inch pexar Digital Picture Frame is available now on Amazon for $159.99. The smaller 10.1-inch model is expected to follow in October, and the 16-inch model will launch toward the end of October.
