Sucker Punch and PlayStation's Iconic Ghost Series
Four years ago, one of the most iconic single-player games in PlayStation 4 dropped, and this delivered Ghost of Tsushima to the world, centering on an all-out Japanese action adventure that blended history and fiction for the world. This first game in the series set the tone for different experiences such as intense action, stealth, and experiencing Japanese samurai practices as Sakai fights against the Mongols in ancient Japan.
The game saw critical acclaim and positive reception from the gaming community, as well as receiving recognition from the likes of The Game Awards in 2020. It was regarded as one of the top years for PlayStation as two of its exclusive games were nominated for the 'Game of the Year' award, and while Ghost of Tsushima was the one that many hoped to win, it was received by Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II.
A year after its release, Sucker Punch Productions released its iconic Director's Cut version of the game alongside the Iki Island expansion.
