Sony Draws Nostalgia With PlayStation 30th Anniversary Limited-Edition Items

As the upcoming PlayStation 30th anniversary draws near, Sony has now unveiled its special products coming to fans and gamers worldwide, featuring new limited-edition items that heavily bank on its original console. The latest unveiling of these new items features the iconic 90s grey of the original PlayStation, applying it to its modern gaming hardware and accessories.

First off, there is the PS5 Pro Bundle which offers the grey console cover and separate disc drive cover, a DualSense Edge with the original controller design and its carry case, a charging dock, and special-themed accessories.

This is also available for the PS5 Slim, however, instead of the DualSense Edge, it only features the DualSense controller with the bundle, also without the carry case and dock.

Separately, fans may also purchase a PlayStation Portal, a DualSense Edge, and a DualSense controller, all in the original colorway of the first PlayStation console. Preorders will begin this September 26 and shipping will start by November 21.

Korea's "Dejaview" AI Empowers CCTV to Detect, Catch Crimes

Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute(ETRI)

Researchers from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) of Korea announced their latest development in the field of AI, and they call this 'Dejaview.' However, it is not the usual AI that offers generative content, as it offers a technology capable of detecting crimes before they happen or catching 'signals' for when it is occurring in the public.

It was detailed by the researchers that they incorporated past CCTV footage of crimes that happened in public, including position determination technology, crime statistics, and more. Their AI is using a "change-based approach" which offers two methods for law enforcement officials to utilize.

First, it will monitor specific locations where crimes have occurred, and it also factors in the time it will happen.

Next, Dejaview can focus on "high-risk" people who are under a watchlist and suspected of committing crimes. This feature would consider body language, and the AI will analyze their moves and determine if they are to commit illegal activities.

Instagram 'Teens' Account Brings Age-Appropriate Content

Users under the age of 18 are now subject to Meta's latest Instagram "teens account" which aims to protect teenagers and adolescents from the harsh reality of social media. Millions of teen's accounts would be automatically set to private and would be kept that way until they reach the legal age.

The new safeguard from Meta would also limit the type of content they see, and this will be specifically experienced by teens aged 13 to 15 years, as they would need parental consent before they can set new privacy levels. On the other hand, teens aged 16 to 17 could manually change this in their account settings.
