Taylor Swift wants to make one thing clear in the upcoming 2024 US Presidential Elections, and this is telling the world that she does not support Donald Trump's campaign, as well as his recent hurtful actions. It was known that the singer-songwriter was a victim of another deepfake effort by Trump's campaign, falsely claiming that Swift endorsed him.
Swift denounced Trump's action for using her name and likeness for his appeal to voters, sharing her AI fears after the multiple attacks.
Taylor Swift Calls Out Donald Trump for Recent Deepfakes of Her
After a long silence by Taylor Swift in the use of her image for revolting posts, she decided to 'Speak Now' and call out the Republican Presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump, for a previous deepfaked post. According to Swift, she is now breaking her silence to "combat misinformation" that is spreading online about her false support for Trump.
The famed musician pertains to the August 19 post made by Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social, where the former US president shared deepfaked images of her. The multi-image post portrayed Swift as 'Uncle Sam' showing "Taylor's" endorsement of him.
Moreover, there was also a satire article screenshot that showed Swifties supporting Trump, and some of these were also AI-generated.
'Miss Americana' Brings Up Her Fears on AI, Endorses Kamala
Taylor Swift also revealed that her fears about AI were brought up again after learning of what Trump posted online, especially with the misinformation it brings to the world. That being said, 'Miss Americana' is now endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the presidency, with Swift committing her vote to the VP as she shares the same beliefs with her.
Swift also encourages the public to do their research to make sound choices in the upcoming elections.
Deepfakes Victimizing Celebrities Like Taylor Swift
Early this year, one of the biggest AI scandals in the world was posted on Elon Musk's X, with an anonymous perpetrator sharing deepfaked nudes of the Grammy multi-award-winning artist, Taylor Swift. While this was taken down by X, the damage has been done to Swift's image, and in its short run, the post quickly became trending and was reposted by multiple accounts.
As artificial intelligence's development helped make more realistic depictions, a wave of deepfakes started online and victimized other celebrities and personalities. Female celebrities were the ones with deepfake porn circulating on the internet, also affecting the likes of Kristen Bell and Scarlett Johansson, while male celebrities were mostly used for AI-generated scams.
In Swift's deepfake porn controversy, the global icon has since fought against these systems, and she has spoken up in eliminating these kinds of disgusting AI usage on the web. Now, she is yet again standing up against AI, but this time, Swift is also calling out Donald Trump for using her in his deepfaked campaign and how her fears surfaced again after this incident.
