Gmail Brings New Gemini AI Feature Called 'Polish' to Transform Drafts Into Formal Emails

Scribbles or rough drafts in Gmail can be transformed using Gemini's Polish.

There is a new AI-powered feature introduced to Gmail earlier today, and Google's Gemini is now bringing the so-called "Polish" feature that adds a new writing assistant on the platform. Through Polish, Gmail drafts and notes would get help transforming into a formal email with only a click, allowing users to edit it and personalize the content to suit their case better.

AI is no longer new on Gmail as it previously introduced the 'Help me write' feature that leverages generative AI capabilities for emails.

Google unveiled in its latest Workspace updates post that Gmail is now getting a new feature from Gemini AI, offering a tool called 'Polish' that would help in drafting emails "faster." This feature is called 'Polish' and it is found under the Help me Write feature that is already widely available for users to access on Gmail, powered by Google's Gemini AI.

This new AI-powered feature is now offering a way to enhance drafts and notes on one's Gmail account, available for mobile platforms like Android and iOS, as well as the web.

On the other hand, Google also introduced new shortcuts for Help me write and 'Refine my Draft' on mobile platforms that make these more accessible for users.

Transform Drafts Into Formal Emails with Polish

Users no longer need to create emails from scratch and worry if it is lacking any elements, have grammatical errors, or not setting the right tone with Gmail's new Polish feature. Found under Help me Write, users may now transform their notes or scribbles on an email draft into a more comprehensive message, with Google saying that it could be a "completely formal draft" that can be tweaked or ready to send to recipients.

Gemini AI and What it Brings to Gmail

Earlier this year, one of the most important updates introduced by Google to its Workspace suite and other apps was the availability of Gemini AI to help users get the most out of these experiences. One of the recipients of this Gemini integration was Gmail, getting a dedicated 'Gemini button' which introduced the 'Help me write' feature to help with compositions.

There is also another Gemini AI feature available on Gmail, and it helps summarize the content from specific conversations, emails, and threads to simplify the experience. According to Google, instead of needing to sift through the thread of messages, users may now ask Gemini for help in analyzing the content and giving them a shortened version that would include the important details.

Artificial intelligence is now the central focus of Big Tech, and Google is leveraging its Gemini developments to deliver stellar experiences for users, made available to its different apps. Now, Gmail is introducing a new feature that would help in transforming notes or rough drafts into usable email, going as far as to make it formal, with Polish now available via Help me Write.
