Survios shared an announcement that confirmed the release date of Alien: Rogue Incursion is coming right before the year ends, by December 19 to be exact. While this timeline is cutting it during the Holiday season, it would not deliver a jolly experience to match Christmas as it centers on an action-horror game that is heavy on the sci-fi genre.

This release date will make the game available to all supported VR platforms where it would be dropped, including the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 3, and PC VR via Steam.

According to ComicBook Gaming, Survios announced the upcoming sequel movie to the franchise, Alien: Romulus, which is set to debut in theaters this Friday, August 16.

What to Expect from Rogue Incursion on VR?

Survios promises a massive action-horror experience on Alien: Rogue Incursion, and it will offer an immersive experience for players as it would be in first-person via VR gaming platforms.

It is now available to pre-order on one's preferred VR platform with its Standard Edition available for $39.99, and $49.99 for the Deluxe Edition. Both editions offer a pre-order bonus of armor and weapon skins inspired by the latest film, Alien: Romulus.

The Alien Film and Game Franchise

The 1979 release of Alien by director Ridley Scott and its story creators, Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett has been regarded as one of the most significant films of the 20th century, and up to this day, it still sees a cult following. Since then, the franchise has seen massive media presence from its film sequels, down to video games adopting its iconic plot.

One of the most popular Alien games in its franchise is the 2014 survival horror FPS, Alien: Isolation, and was widely regarded to be among the best games ever made. Creative Assembly and SEGA's Alien: Isolation stayed faithful to its source material which is the 1979 release from Ridley Scott, set 15 years after the movie, with the game now starring Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda, facing the horrors in this story.

Since then, the franchise has grown to an unprecedented degree, spanning multiple film sequels, as well as game adaptations which are still popular to this day.

Alongside the upcoming theatrical release of Alien: Romulus, Survios' upcoming VR take for the franchise, Alien: Rogue Incursion, is set to hit the stores this late December.
