SCMP reported the latest from China's ByteDance who recently debuted a new app called Jimeng AI, and it promises advanced generative AI features that would help in content creation. Not all platforms can offer multimedia generations from text prompts alone, but the latest from ByteDance promises just that for users in need of a new platform to fulfill it.

The name "Jimeng" stands for "immediate dream," and it promises quick creation of text requests from users, available immediately for use.

This latest release dropped the app on Apple's App Store for mainland China, but it is not yet available for the rest of the world to access.

What Does ByteDance's Jimeng AI Bring to Users?

ByteDance's Jimeng AI draws significant comparisons to OpenAI's Sora, the text-to-image and video platform that leverages the GPT LLM power.

It offers Free access to users, and it will allow as many as 80 images and 26 videos for Jimeng to make for users. However, if users want more generations, Jimeng AI offers a monthly subscription fee of 69 yuan ($9.70).

ByteDance and its Top Developments

The Chinese tech company known as ByteDance is best known for its development of one of the largest social media platforms in the world, TikTok, and has dominated since then. However, it recently faced an issue in the United States because of the Foreign Adversary law, but both ByteDance and TikTok refused to divest, offering to share a copy of its source code with the US for continued operations.

In one of the most recent generative artificial intelligence developments from ByteDance for TikTok, it introduced massive new tools and features that center on AI marketing to help users with content. One of the top features here is the 'TikTok Symphony,' regarded to be an all-in-one tool that can help create scripts, generate videos, and help in its optimization to empower online ads.

Most recently, TikTok also introduced its built-in generative AI chatbot known as Tako which users may ask about certaintopics, answer search results for users including additional data from clicked-on blue comments, and more.

ByteDance is not slowing down on its latest developments, now expanding in the world of AI, with Jimeng AI promising a text-to-image and video generation, now available in China.
