Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg Curses Closed Platforms Like Apple in Latest Showcase with Nvidia

In Mark Zuckerberg's development in the tech industry for around two decades now, he regarded open sourcing as an "awesome experience" for him, with the Meta CEO cursing against closed platforms out of frustration. One of the top targets of Zuckerberg's recent spat against closed platforms is with Apple, notorious for its App Store and other systems.

Zuck claimed that talking about closed platforms makes him "angry," with the tech CEO making a controversial remark against these kinds of platforms.

The latest showcase hosted by Nvidia featured its CEO Jensen Huang talking about the company's AI developments, but in another segment, he invited Meta's Mark Zuckerberg to talk about the future of technology in the world. When asked about open platforms in his company, Zuck's sentiments led to him cursing against closed platforms that have prevented him from offering his preferred experiences.

It is known that Zuckerberg is usually calm and composed in his public outings but it seems like the new and raw version of him came out during the event.

Zuck cited an example of when a closed platform hindered his plans in showcasing a specific technology, to which he said "Nah, f**k that."

Nvidia Showcase with Zuck Talks About AI Development

The Nvidia CEO made a quirky remark after Zuck cursed during the live event, and both continued to talk about each company's AI developments, mainly centering on Meta's Llama and its open-source nature. Furthermore, it wasrevealed by Zuck that he aspires that the next generation would see the open computer win over closed-source platforms that hinder tech development.

Nvidia and Meta's Work on Artificial Intelligence

Over the past year, Nvidia has shown its dominance in the market with its introduction of graphic processing units (GPUs) meant to help in the development of artificial intelligence. The company claimed the third spot as the world's third richest company earlier this year, following a humongous rise in its quarterly revenues by as much as 265 percent.

Since 2022, it was revealed that Meta has been working on artificial intelligence that leans closer to generative AI, with its early development of the Llama model which is now known as its LLM. Apart from generative AI features, Meta and Zuck have focused on making its artificial intelligence development open-sourced, one that faced significant criticism from the industry.

Nvidia and Meta revealed a lot regarding their separate developments in the field of AI, as well as their collaborations over the past years which all center on improving more of the world's tech landscape. One of the main things discussed at the recent event was open and closed platforms, with Mark Zuckerberg having a chip on his shoulder against closed platforms, hoping for a change in the next generation.
