The upcoming NASA and SpaceX Crew-9 launch would take place by mid-August said the space agency, and it will carry astronauts Zena Cardman, Nick Hague, and Stephanie Wilson, alongside cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov.
NASA and the Commercial Crew Program
For many years, NASA expanded its Commercial Crew program with launch partners that will fulfill the missions to bring astronauts to the ISS, granting them massive contracts. Among those who were selected were Boeing and SpaceX, with Elon Musk's renowned space company making history in 2020 with the Crew-1 mission using its Dragon and Falcon spacecraft.
To this date, Boeing's part in the program has not yet been fulfilled, as the company was plagued with massive delays and setbacks which prevented the company from carrying out the missions. That being said, its earlier test last month successfully brought the Starliner to the ISS, but it is still stuck in space, docked to the station until the leak problems are fixed.
At present, SpaceX is the only company that has carried out its commitment to the Commercial Crew program, with it having a new one lined up for the next mission. NASA and SpaceX will soon launch the Crew-9 to bring a new batch of astronauts for their scientific mission, now inviting content creators to witness the event and join fellow space enthusiasts this August.
