IAHD Hackathons: Bringing Global Talents Together

The IAHD, a community of experts in software development, hardware development, and IoT, aims to improve the day-to-day activities of life through technology, hence the call for experts to build sustainable solutions that enhance health and wellness, entertainment, smart home solutions, sustainable living, personal productivity, and financial management.

The hackathon was open to highly skilled developers and is judged based on innovation, user experience, scalability, practicality, and their potential impact in real-life scenarios. The judges are top tech experts with years of experience building solutions for various industries and leading software development.

The collaborative efforts to bring top talents through the IAHD 2024 hackathon saw over 30 talents participate in the three-day hackathon, where seven apps were submitted for review. The hackathon's total prize money of $500 is the IAHD's biggest yet, with the prize shared for the first three places ($350, $100, and $50 for the first, second, and third place, respectively).

The timeline from May to June encompassed a six-week registration window opened from May 12 - June 22, 2024, before the hackathon started at exactly 3 p.m. on June 22. The three-day submission deadline was 9 a.m. on June 25, and voting/judging started immediately, ending on June 29. The final results were announced on June 30.

A Closer Look at the Winning Hacks

The apps were designed in alignment with the 024 theme: Lifestyle Revolution: Enhancing Daily Living Through Technology. The winner depicts the advantages that can make it a real game-changer.

The IAHD Ambulance Bot winner is an emergency WhatsApp health assistant that impacts ambulatory services through enhanced dispatches, hospital selection, and traffic management. The app leverages WhatsApp, a popular tool that over 2 billion people use globally; the chatbot transforms emergency response and eliminates the need for complex tools to manage communication during emergencies. These options can bring a real evolution to the app's lifestyle.

The Finance Tracker supercharges personal finance by allowing users to track their daily spending, monitor global markets, scan bills, generate reports, and set budgets.

The FashionGenie helps users by providing personalized recommendations for outfits. The AI-powered tool offers solutions for style confidence, quick decision-making, and fitting choices.
