The battle for humanity and against Skynet is revived by Netflix Anime, with the streaming giant bringing a new animated series which is an adaptation of The Terminator. The latest teaser for Terminator Zero was released earlier today, giving fans a glimpse into the world of the renowned action cult classic but this time, it is set in 1997 and will focus on AI.
In this new anime, Netflix is gunning for a different kind of story, offering a fresh perspective into the series where humanity now has a chance to fight against the evil company.
Netflix Anime's Adaptation of The Terminator is Coming Soon
Netflix Anime dropped the teaser trailer for its latest development based on The Terminator franchise, Terminator Zero, showing off a fresh story with new characters, while capturing the renowned spirit of the series. This latest drop reveals a new war that is threatening humanity's fate yet again, with its iconic premise of a soldier going back in time to change the future, present in this new adaptation.
The show is produced by Skydance, with Production I.G., Japan's famous animation studio, donning its style and development alongside series creator, Mattson Tomlin.
Terminator Zero will be released this August 29, and for hardcore fans, this date is known as the 'Judgment Day' from the 1991 movie, Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

What to Expect from Netflix's TERMINATOR ZERO?
The new animated series starts in 2022 when humanity is on the brink of extinction in a future war, with a soldier sent back to 1997 in hopes of protecting a scientist who created an AI that could match against Skynet and defeat the evil AIto prevent humanity's future destruction.
Netflix's Terminator Zero stars Timothy Olyphant as The Terminator, Rosario Dawson as Kokoro, Sonoya Mizuno as Eiko, and André Holland as Malcolm Lee.
The Terminator Franchise and Netflix Anime
In 1984, James Cameron delivered one of the most iconic action franchises of all time, with Arnold Schwarzenegger leading the humanoid villain (and later turned hero) in The Terminator franchise. With the franchise already spanning four decades and six main movies in total, there is a lot more for its story to evolve, now transforming into an animated series.
Netflix Anime has made a name for itself in the past years, centering on renowned Japanese-style anime developments from renowned franchises, centering on original executions. One of the most popular Netflix Anime titles was Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a show based on the hit novel and video game, Cyberpunk: 2077, amidst the game's flop.
Later on, Netflix Anime released more adaptations including Tekken: Bloodline, Arcane, and an upcoming redevelopment of ONE PIECE, based on the hit manga series and anime before it. In its 40th anniversary, Netflix Anime is now taking on another iconic franchise for the world to revisit, with TERMINATOR ZERO offering a new story set in 1997, but would still be against the villainous Skynet.
