Google 'Results About You' Dark Web Monitoring Service to be Accessible for Free Soon

Results About You is currently exclusive to Google One subscribers.

One of the most intuitive ways to search the dark web if it has your data is with Google's Results About You, and this will soon be available for all users, even with a free account. This tool was only introduced last May 2022 to users, but it was made exclusive to Google One subscribers, leveraging the now-defunct VPN, additional Drive storage, and more.

Scouring the dark web alone is confusing and dangerous, but Google can now join the league with its abundance of tools.

Google 'Results About You' to be Accessible for Free Soon

The latest update on Google's support page discussed an update regarding the Results About You tool, which would be accessible for free starting in late July 2024. Google did not clarify when this feature would be exactly available, but the company said it would be available to all users provided that their region is eligible to use it.

Previously, it was hidden behind a paywall, the Google One subscription, and this follows the VPN shutdown of the service, which took place in June.

Users only need a registered Google account to access the Results About You tool, which requires a user to sign in during the process.

Monitor Your Data in the Dark Web with Google's Tool

Google's Results About You would help in determining linked data and information to a person using the tool, and not only that, but users may also utilize it to remove their credentials on the surface web. Its recent Dark Web Integration feature would help monitor their information on the dark web, and users may later delete the data seen by Google from their accounts.

Google's Results About You Tool

Two years ago, Google debuted one of its most useful privacy tools to many users called 'Results About You,' and it brought a significant way of searching the web for various information owned by a user available online. More than that, it is also a dark web monitoring service that could look into this deeper layer of the internet for a person's information.

Through this tool, users may delete or remove their traces in the dark web and surface web altogether. It was initially made available to Android users. The feature centers on all the information related to one's account credentials, focusing on personally identifiable information (PII) and other forms of data . It was first introduced via I/O 2022.

However, for the longest time, this was made as an exclusive tool for Google One subscribers only. The service is known for dropping several features, including its recent VPN shutdown in June. This late July, free users will get the chance to access Results About You for the first time in two years, with its dark web integration also available to help remove one's data from the web.
