As revealed by a prominent leaker, Samsung's most useful Galaxy AI feature, real-time translation, could reportedly soon be offered on WhatsApp, WeChat, and Google Meet.
According to reports, the internet giant is collaborating with Meta to deliver real-time translation to WhatsApp. This report comes from Ice Universe, but no other information was provided.
The Samsung Keyboard is required for the Galaxy AI's major functionalities. Thus, reports believe that WhatsApp may only interface with it and provide real-time translation.
This is not the only piece of news from Ice. According to the leaker, Galaxy AI will also be available on Google Meet and WeChat. Galaxy AI will likely connect with these platforms as it does with WhatsApp, but that remains to be seen.
However, sources confirmed that Samsung may remove these functionalities before launch. WhatsApp continually tests new features so that beta testers may be trying them now.
Paid Galaxy AI
Samsung's Galaxy AI features continue to be used in the majority of its products, which could be both a good and bad thing for users. Reports suggest that it will only be available for free for a year, after which it is unclear whether Samsung will require subscriptions to access the "more powerful" paid version of the Galaxy AI.
Samsung's TM Roh recently told insiders that a "paid" Galaxy AI version will be available soon, and the executive hinted at what it could give the globe in addition to smartphones.
The premium Galaxy AI will provide a "more powerful" experience for its customers, although Roh did not specify what features or experiences will be added shortly to the service.
According to Roh, consumers of the present Galaxy AI will be content with the free version of the technology whenever the premium service arrives. However, it is unknown whether the more expensive Galaxy AI experience would be a subscription-based service, which is likely what companies are going for now.
Samsung is following in the footsteps of OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and other companies that need a paid subscription to access advanced AI capabilities.
Furthermore, it is unclear what Samsung has to provide for its paid Galaxy AI and whether consumers who purchase the S24 or other new phones would begin their free year immediately after buying the device.
Samsung Galaxy AI
The Galaxy Unpacked event in mid-January revealed the company's much-anticipated flagship smartphone range, which arrived sooner than expected, unlike the previous year, when it began in early February.
While the S24 series was a major attraction, Samsung also introduced the first-ever Galaxy AI, specialized for mobile devices. Samsung concentrated on localizing the experience in this version, with the mobile AI experience outperforming the Galaxy AI built by the South Korean corporation.
It is worth noting that, in addition to its technology, Samsung is collaborating with Google to bring more AI features to smartphones, which will not be confined to the S24 series.
