The New and Improved Amazon Echo Spot

The new Echo Spot is designed to be a sleek, customizable addition to any nightstand. It retains the semi-spherical shape of its predecessor but now comes with a more compact, colorful display.

This display makes it easy for users to check the time, weather, or the song that is playing. The device is available in six vibrant colorways: orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, and blue, allowing users to select a vibe that fits their style.

Additionally, the Echo Spot offers various custom-designed clock faces that users can mix and match to suit their preferences.

One of the standout features of the new Echo Spot is its improved audio quality. The device includes a front-firing directional speaker that delivers clearer vocals and deeper bass.

According to Amazon, this enhanced audio experience makes it ideal for playing music, with the added benefit of colorful visual animations when music plays. Users can easily interact with the Echo Spot by tapping the display to skip songs or snooze alarms.

More Smart Features

The Echo Spot is fully integrated with Alexa, enabling a wide range of voice commands. Users can set alarms, check the weather, and play music simply by asking Alexa.

The device includes new custom alarm sounds, adding a personal touch to the waking experience. In the announcement, Amazon also teased a number of easter egg features.

Beyond its alarm clock functionality, the Echo Spot can connect to compatible smart home products, allowing users to set up Alexa Routines.

These routines can automate daily tasks, such as turning on bedroom smart lights, starting the morning news, or activating the smart coffee pot in the kitchen.

Privacy and security remain a priority for Amazon, and the Echo Spot is built with multiple layers of privacy controls. It includes a mic off button and allows users to view and delete their voice recordings.

In a promotional offer, Amazon is making the Echo Spot available to Prime members for just $44.99 through July 17, as part of its Prime Day sale.

Non-Prime members can purchase the device for $79.99 or join Prime to take advantage of the discounted offer.

The previous Echo Spot, introduced in 2017, was priced at $129 and featured a full-size display and a camera, but the new version's enhancements offer more value at a lower price point.
