ElevenLabs is now reportedly leveraging the legendary voices of late artists in its Reader app. Users can choose between AI Judy Garland, Burt Reynolds, James Dean, and Sir Laurence Olivier to narrate content for them.

Thanks to deals with their estates for undisclosed sums, the deceased stars' AI voices are in the Reader app's "Iconic voice collection."  The voices will only be available on the Reader App, and users can use them to narrate an e-book.

ElevenLab's YouTube advert includes a clip of Garland reciting The Wizard of Oz. In June, ElevenLabs debuted the Reader App, which allows users to hear whatever is written on their mobile device, including texts, PDFs, and news articles.

It is presently only available in English to iOS users in the US, the UK, and Canada. However, ElevenLabs has a waitlist for Android users and claims it will be accessible in the Google Play store in the "coming weeks."

The firm also says it is working on having the app available in every language supported by its Multilingual model (29 as of now) and will publish it internationally.

ElevenLabs was created in 2022. The company reportedly specializes in natural speech synthesis and voice replication technology, enabling customers to create realistic AI voices in various languages and accents.

Since its founding, ElevenLabs has been dedicated to furthering speech AI research and product development. The business says its technology has been implemented in various industries, including publishing, gaming, media, and conversational AI.

ElevenLabs Recent Partnerships

ElevenLabs constantly improves its artificial intelligence models and collaborates with other organizations to employ its AI voice cloning services. Pocket FM recently partnered with the startup to quickly convert screenplays into audio programs using artificial intelligence.

Before obtaining $103 million in Series D funding in March, the India-based company tested ElevenLabs' text-to-audio technology. In the coming weeks, the expanded partnership will make the AI-powered text-to-audio technology available to all artists.

During testing, Pocket FM, which Lightspeed Ventures fund, created 30,000 hours of audio series using ElevenLabs' AI. The new deployment is expected to triple the company's 100,000-hour content collection by the end of the year. During testing, AI-powered technology reduced audio production costs by 90%.

Prateek Dixit, co-founder and CTO of Pocket FM stated that the cooperation will assist 250,000 writers on the Pocket Novel writing platform in creating audio series. Authors can generate 30 minutes of excellent audio daily thanks to AI technology, which can increase productivity tenfold.

The platform uses ElevenLabs technology to give authors 50 different voices for content generation. ElevenLabs co-founder Mati Staniszewski stated that their algorithm automatically detects emotions based on voice and textual context.

In addition to its recent development with AI-generated sounds, ElevenLabs has made progress in speech technology. The startup recently announced a $80 million Series B fundraising round, which drew interest from notable venture capital companies.
