WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that promises to make video messaging more seamless and user-friendly.

As first reported by WABetaInfo, the "Camera video note mode" is currently rolling out to select beta testers and will soon be available to more users.

This upcoming WhatsApp update looks to enhance the user experience by simplifying the process of recording and sharing video notes.

WhatsApp Is Rolling Out Camera Video Note Mode

The new video note feature is compatible with the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.13.10.76.

While some users may be able to access the feature by installing this version, others might need to wait for a wider rollout over the coming days.

The feature was first announced for Android users in a beta update (version 2.24.14.14) and is now being extended to iOS users.

How the Feature Works

Designed to streamline video messaging, this feature allows users to capture video notes directly within the camera interface.

Previously, users had to switch from voice note mode or press and hold the camera icon in the chat bar to record video messages.

The new camera mode eliminates this confusion, providing a more intuitive and unified method for capturing and sharing video messages.

Existing Camera Messaging Feature

As previously mentioned, WhatsApp already has a video notes feature. Here's how you can use the video notes on the app:

• Open the Chat: Navigate to the chat where you want to send a video note.
• Record: Press and hold the camera button next to the text field. The timer will count down to start recording.
• Switch Cameras: You can switch between the front and back cameras before or during your recording.
• Send: Release the camera button to automatically send the video note.
• Hands-Free Mode: Lock mode allows you to record hands-free video notes.
• Additionally, users can check if their recipients have played the video note. Simply press and hold the sent video note, then tap "Info." Recipients who have played the video note will appear under "Played by."

WABetaInfo tells us that by adding an alternate way to record video notes directly from the camera, WhatsApp is making it easier for users to understand and use the video note feature.

This additional mode not only simplifies the process but also helps the feature gain more visibility, encouraging more users to discover and utilize video notes.

More Features Coming to WhatsApp

In addition to the video note feature, WhatsApp has been developing other exciting updates. A recent leak revealed that WhatsApp users will soon be able to create personalized stickers using their own images.

This feature, powered by an AI image generator developed by Meta, will allow users to upload photos for analysis and generate customized stickers for use in chats.

Another upcoming feature will streamline event planning within group chats. Users will be able to schedule events directly within the messaging app, making it easier to organize and manage community activities.
