The upcoming first public playtest of 2XKO, the League of Legends-based fighting game, was recently announced by Riot Games to be coming soon, offering the schedule of this early public access to the much-awaited game. Several selected countries were announced to be part of this public playtest called "Alpha Lab," and it will debut the first time players may get a chance to try it out. 

It is nearly three years since Riot Games announced the game to the world, and it was previously regarded by its codename, Project L, with this playtest possibly suggesting that its release is near. 

Riot Games Brings 2XKO's First Playtest, 'Alpha Lab,' This August

The upcoming first public playtest of Riot Games' 2XKO was recently announced by the company, calling this the "Alpha Lab" which will deliver access and experience to its much-awaited fighting game. It will be available to access for seven countries in its first playtest including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil, France, Japan, and Mexico. 

Alpha Lab will begin opening its doors to players starting August 8 and it will last for almost two weeks until August 19, with the company to collect comments and feedback from its selected participants. 

Eligible users in the aforementioned countries may now sign up to be part of the Alpha Lab playtest, with Riot Games confirming that it will be available on all the platforms including Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S and X.

What to Expect from the 2XKO's Alpha Lab Playtest?

Riot explained that participants would be met with an "unpolished state" of the game, and its main purpose is to collect feedback from gamers regarding the game. This raw experience of the game would allow Riot to change different aspects of 2XKO based on the opinions or suggestions of the selected participants. 

In the post, the company also confirmed that the game will be released come 2025. 

League of Legends and 2XKO Fighting Game

Riot Games' most popular title in the company's history was League of Legends, the renowned multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) which first made its debut in 2009. It has spanned to different spinoffs including its mobile version, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and later as a Netflix original series, Arcane, and now, an arcade-style fighting game initially called Project L.

It was only earlier this year that Riot Games announced the official name of the League of Legends fighting game to the world, confirming 2XKO to be its next massive release for the world. There have been massive praises for the game's iconic and unique art style, special effects, and using its renowned Champions from the League to deliver this new experience.

With the growing information and rumors behind the upcoming game, players are massively excited about what it has to offer, one that would be available on multiple platforms upon launch, as well as in the upcoming playtest. In less than a month, 2XKO's Alpha Lab, a.k.a. its first public playtest, will open its doors for those who want to join the experience, also confirming its 2025 release date.
