One of the most beloved franchises in the gaming industry is Assassin's Creed, as it offers gamers an experience that other games cannot deliver.
It is now confirmed that Ubisoft is working on multiple remakes of Assassin's Creed. It was recently reported that the gaming company is already developing some Assassin's Creed remakes.
To date, the AC franchise has 14 games, including the latest and upcoming release, Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Assassin's Creed Remakes Coming Soon, Ubisoft Confirms
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently talked about the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise and the company's portfolio in an interview. He revealed that the company was already in the works of developing upcoming remakes for its most popular game franchise.
When asked about the franchise's future and games similar to the large-scale offerings of Shadows, Odyssey, and Valhalla, Guillemot noted that remakes are already in place. However, he did not reveal how many remakes there will be or which Assassin's Creed stories will be covered.
The Ubisoft CEO only teased about a "variety" in the Assassin's Creed experience in the future, which would likely offer a unique take on the games, starting with next year's Assassin's Creed Hexe.
"There will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin's Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year," Guillemot said in the interview.
"There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin's Creed Hexe, which we've announced, which is going to be a very different game from Assassin's Creed Shadows. We're going to surprise people, I think," he added.
Ubisoft and the Assassin's Creed Franchise
The year 2022 was a massive year for Ubisoft, particularly with its Forward event returning and also with its announcement of Assassin's Creed Infinity, which detailed its roadmap for future releases.
It unveiled the renowned titles the world will see in the future, with the likes of Assassin's Creed Mirage, Shadows, and more. After its massive success from its first three mainline releases, Assassin's Creed I to III, various side stories were released, with two centering on Ezio Auditore da Firenze on Brotherhood and Revelations.
Ubisoft is set to transport fans to Japan in November, when Assassin's Creed Shadows, previously known as Assassin's Creed Codename Red, will be released.
The colorful history of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise garnered massive fandom and success, with many still preferring the old titles to newer ones.
However, Ubisoft continues to work on unknown titles under the Assassin's Creed franchise that will be remade soon, including one that will likely offer an iconic story with a more modern approach.
That being said, massive innovations are already in place for Assassin's Creed's upcoming games, including exploring AI in improving and "enriching" NPCs that will make them more interactive.
