Google Chrome Updates

Google Chrome has also just received some intriguing additions, like reading webpages aloud right within the program.Google has updated the Android Chrome browser with a new "Listen to this page" feature. With this functionality, users can request that web pages be read aloud to them.

Playback controls are easy to use and resemble those in podcast or music applications. This enables smooth content navigation, pausing, reading speed adjustments, and 10-second interval forward and backward skipping.

With the ability to customize reading straight from the browser interface, it seeks to improve accessibility and convenience. Google's Android Chrome browser users can further personalize their experience by using the "Listen to this page" function, which goes beyond reading webpages aloud.

Users may use this function by going to a webpage with a lot of text, tapping the three dots menu in Chrome, and choosing "Listen to this page," directly below the Translate option.

This technology improves user accessibility by enabling users to customize their listening experience according to their preferences and linguistic requirements straight from the browser interface.

Google Assistant 'Listen' Functions

Google Assistant is another tool for reading web pages aloud. It can convert text into many languages while it reads. Nevertheless, utilizing Google Assistant for this function sends users to the Google app interface rather than the Chrome browser.

On the other hand, users may still use these reading and translation features within the Chrome browser, thanks to the recently added "Listen to this page" function.

This new option improves user comfort by offering seamless browsing and accessibility functions from within the Chrome browser environment.

Additionally, Google has experimented with including this feature in desktop Chrome versions. However, Safari for iPhone has a similar feature called "Listen to Page," which uses Siri's voice and includes controls that resemble those seen in Google's implementation.
