Marvel Rivals: What to Expect from the PvP Shooter?
NetEase Games and Marvel Games teamed up to deliver a new experience for the renowned comic book franchise in a new light, moving away from story-based single-player action to a PvP shooter with Marvel Rivals. Right off the bat, it already offers a rich experience with the many iconic maps coming, including Yggsgard, a hybrid of Asgard, and the Norse tree of life, Yggdrasil.
The game also confirmed that as many as 17 characters will arrive, offering a mix of heroes and villains.
This new era of Marvel is also massive on video game releases with various partners and collaborations, particularly with Electronic Arts' development of the upcoming single-player story-centric title, Iron Man.
In this latest PvP shooter game, Marvel Rivals has been compared to Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, and Valorant for its focus on special powers and vibrant effects in-game, but it would be in the third person. Marvel Rivals is now moving from its alpha to the closed beta to share the game with more users, with the experience starting this upcoming July for the console and PC platforms.
