A new feature discovered on WhatsApp's beta tests the capability to send a video reply to other users instead of the platform's traditional text or voice messages.
This test was recently discovered in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, expanding more on the interactive and intuitive ways a person can reply to a specific message sent to them.
Meta's WhatsApp has been adding massive features on the beta, with the latest video replies offering a nifty feature for users that could reciprocate the experience for all.
WhatsApp Now Testing Video Replies on Android Beta
Renowned insider WABetaInfo released a new report behind a new WhatsApp for Android beta feature that appeared on version 2.24.14.5, allowing a person to send video replies to contacts. This is specifically for video messages the user receives, as it only allows the recipient to respond with text or voice messages in the previous version.
This means that users may now have the option to respond to the video message with the same media as their reply, which will work for both parties on the chat.
However, this feature is still exclusive to the beta version, and it was revealed that it will soon arrive in WhatsApp for Android's public release.

WhatsApp Beta Expanding on Media Experiences
Meta has introduced various media experiences for WhatsApp users to enjoy. While they were all in beta at first, they slowly made their way to the public release later on. AI has played a massive role in expanding more of WhatsApp's features before, offering significant experiences that focus on chats and media content.
WhatsApp Beta and Its Features Under Tests
One of the most enjoyable WhatsApp beta features was a massive drop from Meta. It centered on AI image generation available right on the app for users to enjoy. This feature, first released on WhatsApp's US operations, came from Meta's development of its AI model, the Llama, and was made available after the Meta AI assistant's introduction.
Moreover, WhatsApp's previous beta version in April also spotted that it is expanding the Chat Lock feature, which it introduced last year to secure chats and messages on a device. This expansion would center on locking a specific chat on a linked device only, meaning the hidden messages would not be transferred despite logging into WhatsApp on other devices.
Meta's WhatsApp remains one of the top-used instant messaging apps in the world, offering massive features for users to enjoy alongside its famed end-to-end encryption features. WhatsApp's latest beta version for Android was spotted to feature video replies to video messages, allowing users to choose from all the options to respond to chats.
