Fortnite Reload Mode Brings Back OG Map for a Limited-Time Only—Here’s When

OG map is returning yet again, but this time, under Reload.

Get ready for another throwback experience on Fortnite as it teased the upcoming 'Reload' mode that will take place for a limited time only, offering the original (OG) map yet again. Similar to the last chapter's offer, this OG map will deliver the experiences from the early days of the game, centering on its iconic Chapter 1 and the familiar locations on the map.

This upcoming Reload mode will go side-by-side with Fortnite Festival's upcoming Season 4 update that will bring the renowned rock band, Metallica, to the game.

Fortnite Reload Mode Brings Back OG Map For Limited Time

A new teaser from Fortnite earlier today shows off a new map that pays homage to its OG experiences in the game, but instead of a new season dedicated to bringing it, this will be under the new Reload mode. For those unfamiliar with the OG map, the Reload will bring back several points of interest from the Chapter 1 experience to this latest mode.

In the video, Fortnite showed off five POIs that will make a debut in Reload, with Tilted Towers as its central point, alongside Pleasant Park, Lil' Loot Lake, Retail Row, and Sandy Sheets, with these iconic locations known by longtime gamers all too well.

Epic Games already has a placeholder on YouTube that will release the official trailer for Reload, along with more details behind it.

The Reload mode will drop this Saturday, June 22, and will be available for a limited time only, but it is unsure if it will be for this weekend only. According to Fortnite's X announcement, this new Reload would deliver "countless reboots" and this may mean that players who are downed or defeated may get a chance to respawn and join their squad or the game again.

Fortnite and Its Successful OG Map's Return

It is known that nobody can turn back time, and what's done is done, but Fortnite did not let up with Chapter 4 Season 5's release of the OG experience, alongside its famed Chapter 1 Season 5 map. Essentially, Epic Games redelivered the iconic experiences and nostalgic feels of the old map, and this brought massive excitement for gamers when it was first teased.

The renowned Fortnite OG experience was a massive success for the company, as it saw a whopping 44.7 million players hopping into the battle royale to re-experience the map. Apart from that, Epic Games logged 102 million hours of play in its first week since its debut, made up of both old-school and newbie gamers in Fortnite, with many wanting more.

However, Chapter 4 Season 5 came to an end, like any other season including the original one, and Epic Games had to move forward with its latest offers and developments for all. That being said, there is no stopping them from bringing back this experience yet again, with Fortnite now offering the Reload mode to gamers this weekend, centering on the OG map.
