With 2024 as the era of artificial intelligence, we expect to see smartphones getting AI-powered features just like what Samsung did to Galaxy S24. What's interesting is that foldable handsets can likely bring these features soon.

For example, Motorola's Razer Plus 2024 is ready to take on Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 6. While the South Korean company is a known giant in the smartphone business, a new leak suggests that its foldable will be outmatched by Motorola when it comes to camera upgrades.

If this is real, then we are bound to witness a hot contest between the two foldable powerhouses.

A leaked clip of the Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is circulating on X. The video shows it will boast a telephoto camera which is a rare feature in foldable handsets.

9to5Google discovered a leaked marketing video by @MysteryLupin on X featuring the Razr Plus 2024. From the looks of it, the clip is a legit promotional video from Motorola. The marketing touches are on point, indicating that it's highly credible. If that's the case, then what we saw in the video are the features that will be available to the upcoming Motorola foldable.

Motorola Razr+ to Boast Improved Camera

As highlighted in the video, the most noticeable camera upgrade is the telephoto camera. A game-changing feature in the making, it's not every day we see it in foldable devices.

Neither the Motorola Razr Plus 2023 nor the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 offered this feature, and current leaks suggest the Galaxy Z Flip 6 won't either. However, this addition might come at the expense of an ultra-wide lens, as the Razr Plus 2024 still appears to have a dual-lens setup.

Water Resistance Saves the Day, But There's a Catch

The Motorola Razr Plus 2024 also boasts an IPX8 rating, allowing it to withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. This is on par with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and a step up from the IP52 rating of its predecessor, which only protected against splashes. However, this upgrade in water resistance might mean a trade-off, as the 'X' in IPX8 indicates a lack of dust resistance.

AI Integration for Enhanced Photography

As expected, AI plays a significant role in the new Razr Plus, according to TechRadar. The video mentions that the phone is 'AI-powered,' likely referring to advanced AI photo-editing tools. These tools might enable users to move and remove elements within photos, similar to features seen on the Google Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy S24.

Display and Design

The video describes the Razr Plus 2024's screen as the 'largest,' though the current Razr Plus already leads its clamshell rivals with a 6.9-inch foldable display and a 3.6-inch cover screen. It remains unclear if this year's model will have even larger displays.

Design-wise, the Razr Plus 2024 looks similar to its predecessor, with a slightly smaller bezel below the cover screen. The phone will be available in various colors, including green, pink, and purple.

Motorola has confirmed that its next foldables will be officially unveiled on June 25. Until then, these leaked details paint an exciting picture of the Razr Plus 2024, suggesting it could offer compelling advantages over the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.

With advanced camera capabilities, improved water resistance, and AI-powered features, the Razr Plus 2024 is a force to be reckoned with-something that fans long to see in a foldable gadget.

Meanwhile, Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the new Samsung Galaxy S25 series will rely on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets instead of Exynos.
