Samsung's Galaxy Ring charging case, similar to that of Samsung's earbuds, has supposedly been revealed by a well-known tipster on Weibo.
The leaked photo shows a square white clamshell box with a raised circle in the center containing the smart ring. Although it's unclear if the Galaxy Ring case will contain a battery for convenient charging or if it needs to be plugged in, it appears to be similar to the charging cover for Samsung's earphones, the Galaxy Buds.
According to earlier sources, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is expected to come with a multipurpose charging case. Initially, customers could use this to charge the bright ring's battery when they see a low battery or power level or when the gadget runs out of juice.
Furthermore, this can also be used as a carrying case or storage to ensure the Galaxy Ring is not misplaced or lost. This eliminates the need for cords to charge the gadget directly. However, it's unclear if this is a battery case similar to those provided by wireless earbuds, which function as travel and charging cases in one.
That said, the Galaxy Ring is expected to have a battery life that lasts a couple of days, so either way, the ring is designed to go where users go.
Expected Samsung Galaxy Ring Price
The leaked images come after renowned insider and tipster Yogesh Brar shared last month that the Galaxy Ring's price will be starting at $300. The wearable's price in the US may go up to $350, so the cost of the gadget would not be constant. What additional conditions would cause it to be sold for $50 more than its original price was not disclosed in the tip.
The new Samsung wearable was also revealed to be available in three colorways, including Black, Gold, and Silver, the common ring colors. However, it is unknown if the price will vary depending on the color.
Brar also revealed to sources that the Samsung Galaxy Ring would come with a monthly subscription fee on top of the purchase price. This implies that in addition to the $300, customers would have to pay a $10 monthly subscription to access all the functions.
Since the Galaxy Watches are fitness and health trackers that no longer require monthly subscriptions to offer their famed features, it is also unclear if it would still serve a function if a user cancels their subscription.
Recent Updates on the Galaxy Ring
At the beginning of last year, intense discussion focused on the patent-applied Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Glasses, two anticipated wearables from Samsung that will offer new products.
At first, it was thought that the Galaxy Ring would be a wearable accessory for the Glasses as part of Samsung's much-hyped XR experience, but it was discovered that the finger wearable is intended for health tracking.
Samsung debuted a teaser for its Galaxy Ring wearable and its newest flagship smartphone, which boasts inbuilt AI capabilities, during this year's Galaxy Unpacked in January 2024.
