A massive operation for Tesla is now underway as CEO Elon Musk places a significant bet on its Optimus humanoid robot soon working in factories, with as many as 1,000 units projected to be operating next year.

In the recent Tesla Shareholders' meeting, Musk spoke with utter confidence regarding Tesla Optimus' future, deploying its autonomous robots in real-world settings, setting an example for this projection at Tesla.

Elon Musk Pushes for Tesla Optimus Growth Next Year

The CEO stated that Optimus would have an increased presence next year, envisioning its arrival in the workplace, where the bots would complete factory tasks.

The billionaire also highlighted that Optimus will soon be Tesla's most important product, one that can bring in massive business for them.

Musk claimed that they could produce one Optimus robot for $10,000 per model and sell the autonomous and humanoid machines for $20,000 apiece. The CEO believes that the market will soon require 1 billion humanoid robots per year, and he believes that Tesla could supply at least 10 percent of it and see as much as $1 trillion in profits.

Another massive claim from Musk during this meeting was that Tesla would have as many as 1,000 Optimus units working in its factories next year, but he did not mention who or what jobs the humanoid robots would replace if this took place.

Moreover, Tesla's Optimus will also undergo a massive change by 2026, when its software will be fully customizable and can be fitted into particular setups or programs by certain customers.

Elon Musk and the Tesla Optimus

The future where humanoid robots are replacing humans at their jobs and working in factories may be near, and this is because Tesla is one of the companies that are currently making it happen in the tech industry. There have been massive developments over the years for Optimus, but last year's showcase from Musk and Tesla only shows its significant progress in the robotics project of the company, with next-gen capabilities that fit this day and age.

Other variations of the Tesla Optimus have been showcased in the past few years. The clean energy company demonstrated that one version of the Optimus can lift an entire piano without any problems, using new legs with actuators specifically for heavy lifting.

Optimus has been around for years, and most people heard about it at Tesla's AI Day events, which showcased the humanoid robot. However, previous show-and-tells only portrayed its limited features.

Recent showcases have brought more capabilities and functionalities to Tesla Optimus, but none so far for its actual work in factories. Musk is looking to change this from this moment on until next year, with a massive claim behind 1,000 units of the robot working in Tesla's factories.
