The latest release from Ubisoft's first-person shooter title, XDefiant, is now making headlines, as it revealed that there would be penalties to incur for players who excessively jump in-game. It was shown in the game's Year 1 Season 0.3 Patch Notes released earlier today, alongside the many experiences coming to the title as part of the new update.
For years now, shooter games have become extreme e-sports and competitions for gamers, with jumping as part of their tactic to avoid getting shot or damaged by opponents.
Ubisoft's XDefiant Will Fine Gamers for Excessive Jumping
Ubisoft's latest patch notes, released on June 12, revealed that XDefiant will bring massive changes to the game, including a new penalty for gamers who jump excessively during matches. At the very top of the release, under Gameplay, Ubisoft claimed that there would be 'aiming penalties' coming for gamers who spam the jump or crouch buttons in the game.
Ubisoft and the dev team seem to have a massive problem with excessive jumping, as they made it clear that this is a "maddening exploit" done by gamers.
This tactic of jump spamming will not be permitted in-game and while in other games it is not a massive deal, on XDefiant, it sadly is.
XDefiant's Year 1 Season 0.3 Patch Notes
Apart from this new jump spamming penalties, XDefiant also revealed other changes and improvements for the game.
Escort mode will allow gamers to push the package without detaching the torso from the legs, a bug that previously plagued the gameplay. Additionally, weapons have fine-tuning features, including fixing PC-specific issues regarding ADS.
The bandwidth issue with Libertad's medical skills has also been fixed. Ubisoft also fixed various bugs and crashes. You may read all the patch notes on Ubisoft's website.
Ubisoft's Renowned Shooter Games
While Ubisoft has long focused on third-person action games in its many franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and more, it also has massive takes on action-shooter titles from before. The French gaming company is also known for its Tom Clancy action games, with one of the most popular being Rainbow Six Siege, which offers a battle royale and multiplayer experience.
There was also a promised game under the codename Project U that was coming from Ubisoft with help from the Tom Clancy development team to deliver a new kind of action-shooter experience in the gaming industry. It was regarded that this game would focus on a PvP arena shooter game, speculated to be what we now know as XDefiant.
It was initially touted that XDefiant would compete with Activision Blizzard's renowned Call of Duty franchise, but recent early reviews were underwhelmed by Ubisoft's release.
Now, a new patch is here to deliver massive experiences for XDefiant and its gamers. Among the many improvements, a new penalty for jump spamming is also coming.
