GreenPower unveiled its latest innovation, the electric refrigerated medium-duty delivery truck, known as the EV Star REEFERX. With this new vehicle on the road, preserving your perishable goods will be the least of your worries, especially for companies with frozen and fresh foods on the go.
Superior Design and Customization
The EV Star REEFERX is designed with a purpose-built, fully customizable body, making it a standout in the medium and heavy-duty electric vehicle market.
Its lighter construction increases the payload capacity to an impressive 5,500 pounds, surpassing the 5,000-pound capacity of GreenPower's previous models. This improvement guarantees greater efficiency and productivity for businesses relying on refrigerated delivery trucks.

Advanced Battery and Charging Capabilities
Equipped with a 118 kWh battery, the EV Star REEFERX offers a range of up to 150 miles, making it ideal for mid to last-mile deliveries. The truck supports DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery in approximately two hours, with an option for wireless DC fast charging also available. These features ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
Optimal Performance for Temperature-Controlled Deliveries
According to Electrek, the EV Star REEFERX is engineered to transport a variety of temperature-sensitive goods, including fresh and frozen foods, flowers, and pharmaceuticals. Its one-piece wall structure guarantees consistent insulation, while the multi-temperature zones cater to items requiring different storage conditions.
What's more, the truck's three-inch-thick PET foam insulation, made from recyclable materials, provides superior temperature control without absorbing water.
EV Star REEFERX's Economic and Environmental Benefits
Being an electric vehicle, the EV Star REEFERX significantly reduces maintenance needs, translating to lower downtime and improved total cost of ownership for fleet operators. This eco-friendly truck not only supports sustainable business practices but also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
"The global refrigerated trucks market size reached $9.8 billion in 2023 and is expected to reach $15.4 billion by 2032. With mandates, such as California's requirements for all Transportation Refrigeration Units (TRUs) to achieve zero emissions by the end of 2029, combined with the increasing demand from consumers for online shopping and home grocery delivery, a significant market opportunity exists for this vehicle," Brendan Riley, President of GreenPower said.
A New Standard in Electric Delivery Trucks
GreenPower's EV Star REEFERX sets a new standard in the electric refrigerated delivery truck market. With its advanced design, superior battery technology, and robust temperature control features, it offers a compelling solution for businesses seeking efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly transportation options.
