These two functions on the Control Center are also known to be the most prominent, as they take up bigger spaces in the drop-down menu for instant controls for certain apps and devices.

With iOS 18 expected to usher in a new era for the iPhone, these changes to the Control Center are also necessary to improve more smartphone experiences.

Mark Gurman's recent Power On newsletter via Bloomberg details the arrival of iOS 18's latest changes, focusing on the Control Center's Music widget and HomeKit controls. These quick controls and functions found on the iPhone's drop-down menu will receive a new look, and new enhancements will be expected.

While Gurman did not provide exact looks, he believed that the revamped Music widgets and HomeKit controls would have a different design than the old ones.

Control Center's Music and HomeKit widgets have remained unchanged since it was first introduced 2017 alongside the iPhone X.

What to Expect from iOS 18's Control Center Changes?

This iOS 18 change for Control Center offers a new look for the Music widget's Now Playing look, which applies to Apple Music and other streaming apps like Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix. On the other hand, HomeKit will still deliver its unified controls for smart home appliances that are eligible for this iPhone integration.
