Supergirl is well on its way to becoming a possible hit series for CBS and DC should things go according to plan. From what we've come to understand, the show is seeking a very tall and powerful male actor to play the part of Lumberjack, the main villain of the pilot episode.
Not everyone might have an idea of who Lumberjack is because he is one of those lesser known villains. However, despite being obscured, he is very strong, and according to a report from TV Line, the villain had already faced-off with Superman in the show, and now will get his chance to lay his hands down on his cousin, Supergirl.
The report goes on to describe Lumberjack as a "big, burly monster of a man." That should give folks an idea of how powerful he is, and the type of actor the show is looking to cast. We suspect he might have a similar look to Games of Thrones star Rory McCann; though we wouldn't mind one bit if the showrunners could manage to sign the actor since his work on Game of Thrones has ended.
Since it has been reported that Lumberjack would have already come face-to-face with the Man of Steel in the Supergirl TV show, we have to wonder if our favorite hero will ever show up. It is possible he might not, and all the show will do is mention his name along with news reports of his heroic actions in Metropolis and around the world.
If they do go ahead and allow viewers to see Superman, then we should only expect him to show up as his alter ego, Clark Kent. Maybe fans will also get to see the man in the red cape on magazine covers and or on the Internet.
For those who are still confused as to who Lumberjack is, he made his first appearance in the comic book world in Wonder Woman issue #280 back in 1980. Obviously, he got his butt kicked to the curb, and we expect him to face a similar fate when he goes up against the Girl of Steel later in the year.
