Ledger, a French startup known for its crypto hardware wallets, has started shipping its new wallets nearly 18 months after announcing the latest Ledger Stax devices.
These updated wallets feature an E-Ink display and were designed in collaboration with Tony Fadell, one of the key designers behind the iPod. E-Ink technology.

The Ledger Stax wallets initially fulfilled all pre-orders, and the company plans to list them on its website once more stock is available.
Ledger collaborated with Tony Fadell to bring clarity and confidence to signing transactions and securing digital assets. The Ledger Stax offers users a secure way to manage cryptocurrency and digital value, built on a robust architecture with a design that promises accessibility and interactivity.
The Ledger Stax, featuring a unique curved E-Ink display, provides a detailed view of transactions at a glance. The E-Ink display remains visible even when the device is off, displaying users' chosen art or photos. Additionally, the E-Ink technology ensures energy efficiency, allowing the battery to last for weeks or even months on a single charge.
The Ledger Stax is a credit card-sized device with integrated magnets, making it easy to stack multiple devices. The curved E-Ink spine of the device displays its contents, akin to a book on a shelf.
The device connects to the Ledger Live app on a laptop via secure USB-C and to the Ledger Live Mobile app on a smartphone via Bluetooth. It also supports wireless Qi charging, according to the French startup.
Managing Digital Assets Easier
Tony Fadell emphasized that managing crypto and NFTs before the Ledger Stax was challenging, similar to managing MP3s before the iPod. The Ledger Stax was designed to make managing digital assets easier, featuring the world's first curved E-Ink secure touchscreen. The device is touted to user-friendly, always-on, and energy-efficient.
The touch interface of the Ledger Stax empowers Ledger's developer community to build Web3 applications with robust security. Ledger Live, an omni-chain companion app, enables users to effortlessly connect with their Ledger device.
It promises a highly secure platform for buying, selling, swapping, and earning yield on cryptocurrency, integrating with global service providers like Moonpay, Coinbase, PayPal, and Lido.
Ledger Live supports over 10,000 coins and tokens across over 70 blockchains, and approximately 200 dApps are integrated into its ecosystem.

The Ledger Stax's Specifications
The Ledger Stax's specifications include dimensions of 85mm by 54mm by 6mm, a weight of 45g, and connectivity options such as USB-C, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.
The device features a CC EAL 6+ certified Secure Element, an E Ink screen with a resolution of 672 by 400 pixels, and a unique magnet array for easy stacking. It also supports Qi wireless charging.
