It has been less than four months since the Galaxy S24, but leaks are now pointing to Galaxy S25 Ultra upgrades coming from Samsung. The next release will focus on its cameras. The latest information came from China's renowned social media site, Weibo, with the original poster claiming that major upgrades would be heading the S25 Ultra cameras' way. 

Earlier leaks suggest that Samsung's new in-house chip development will power the S25 series, unlike the S24 Ultra's Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: New Camera Lens Leaks

The renowned tipster and leaker Ice Universe shared via a post on Weibo that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be given an additional lens for its rear camera setup. Instead of the triple-lens setup in the current S24 Ultra devices, it will soon feature a quad-camera lens alongside the already included sensors like LiDAR and more. 

Alongside this, new camera upgrades are also dawning on the S25 Ultra in its future release, claiming that this new setup will be "quite reliable."

Camera Upgrades Coming for S25 Ultra?

The leaker claimed there would be the 200-megapixel main camera, but the previous 10MP camera on the S24 will now be the 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and the 12MP will be the 50MP ultrawide camera. 

Samsung's new addition would be the 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. 

Additionally, Samsung allegedly plans to upgrade the ultrawide and 3x zoom lens sensors, which would help improve more of its shots. 

Samsung's Galaxy S Series Cameras

The Galaxy S series receives only the best from Samsung's developments, especially with its cameras. Considering that it is the flagship smartphone, it has to be the one to keep up with its tough competitors. In the S24's promotional images and videos, Samsung launched the S24 Ultra to the stratosphere, right below the low-Earth orbit, to take pictures and boast of its capabilities. 

In terms of camera specs alone, the S24 Ultra has been the better smartphone amongst its rivals. It offers the renowned 200-megapixel main rear camera alongside the power of its two other lenses. Reviews pitted it against the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the company's top-tier flagship, and many consider that Apple's 48MP main rear camera is no match for the S24 Ultra.

Several years ago, there have been criticisms that cameras are the ones that get the most attention from its yearly upgrades from different tech companies, but this is also a big plus considering that many are heavy users of it. 

The Galaxy S25 series is expected next year, in January or February 2025, with leaks claiming that it will add an extra lens and tout new capabilities for the Ultra.
