Talks about an upcoming T-Mobile price hike have been going on since April, and a number of reports are now here to confirm it.
T-Mobile is reportedly increasing the prices of its legacy plans, with the changes being implemented as early as the June 5 billing cycle. Affected customers are expected to receive notifications of the updated plan pricing later today.
T-Mobile Raises Prices on Legacy Plans
The Mobile Report informs us that older plans, such as the Simple Choice and ONE plans, will see price increases of $2 to $5 per month. Other older plans, such as the Sprint plans, are also likely to see some price increases.
It is important to note that these changes will not come with forced plan changes, as previous reports indicated. Affected subscribers will be able to retain the benefits and perks that come with their chosen plans, like taxes and fees included.
According to the same report, plans covered by Price Lock will not be affected. With Price Lock, if the service provider changes the price of your plan and you choose to leave because of this change, you can inform them within 60 days, and they will cover the cost of your final month's recurring service charges.

Inflation Prompts T-Mobile Price Hike
As for the reasons behind the price hikes, one T-Mobile employee shared on Reddit that the company told the employees that the "small price adjustments" were because of rising costs and inflation.

The company even added that despite these changes, T-Mobile's prices remain lower than those of rivals AT&T and Verizon.
According to the sources, T-Mobile's management is preparing for a deluge of complaints from affected customers. With their low-priced plans compared to other major providers, many users are expected to be shocked.
You could say it is a mob scene today at T-Mobile. The company has reportedly asked employees to use provided scripts when dealing with customers and to take advantage of every complaint call to pitch an upgrade or subscribe to a newer plan.
What's Next?
T-Mobile users affected by the price changes can opt to switch providers, but changing one has always proven to be a hassle. However, if Price Lock covers your plan, T-Mobile has guaranteed to pay for your last month with the service if you decide to cut ties. Or you can always choose to stay if the increases do not hurt your budget that much.
Lastly, it will be of great help to get a glance at the fine print that came with your T-Mobile plan to ensure you are not missing something.
